This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc from Alysha and Lucy at Vino Idda, with the fruit coming from the Bass River vineyard in Gippsland. A small portion of the fruit spent two weeks on skins in an amphora, whilst the remaining juice was pressed straight to neutral oak and aged on full lees for 12 months. Lemon curd, passionfruit sorbet, and plenty of tangy grapefruit, with a subtle oxidative character and mealy texture from extended lees contact.

From the famed soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Mont-Redon are equally famous for their rendition of the robust, powerful classic. The aroma is rich yet lively, with earthy herbs, cherry liqueur & exotic spices. On the palate there’s red & black fruits, peppery spice & sweet, luxurious tannins.

This is a cracking release from Yarra Valley legend Luke Lambert. As always, the fruit for this cuvée comes from the iconic Tibooburra vineyard in the upper reaches of the Valley, though Luke has changed the look and feel of this Chardonnay by incorporating a second plot from the same vineyard which sees more sun exposure and more closely planted vines. The 2020 Chardonnay is decidedly more concentrated than in previous years, yet still showcases Luke's inherent ability to preserve freshness and balance in his wines. It's awash with ripe nectarine, roasted hazelnut, a light herbal quinine touch, and a little lime leaf. There are whispers of subtle new oak that help support the generous fruit expression, with beautiful chiselled acidity running throughout the palate.

Like a mythical creature, Wings & Horns appears from the mists of the Mornington Peninsula. A delightful mix of white stone fruit & ripe citrus that builds on the palate into yellow peach & grapefruit. A deft touch of richness kept in check with a clean, fresh finish. Soon to be legend.

A wonderful, preservative free, ruby- coloured Shiraz from the beautiful McLaren Vale. This is a great example of Shiraz from the region, full of dark sweet orchard fruit, with a seam of saline tannin running throughout. YUMBO.

Clearly, the plot has been found again. This is meticulous & composed; a brilliant example of the variety allowed to shine all by itself. Yellow stone fruit & nectarine are joined by a little blossom & a savoury, mealy note. It’s the slippery, pear-skin texture that will keep you coming back for more.

The Fairybread Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Gewürztraminer, co-fermented in order to get the party started before you arrive. Strawberry, watermelon, and light tropical fruit notes with a tough of skinsy grip and fresh acidity.

Patient Wolf’s flagship gin, aptly named after their hometown and distillery location. Juniper berries, coriander seeds, aniseed myrtle orris root, angelica root, cardamom, cubeb pepper and tonka beans are steeped into this one, with fresh ruby grapefruit, oranges, and aniseed myrtle vapour infused. This is bold, complex, aromatic, and goes beautifully paired with some fresh ruby grapefruit. (700ml) 41.5% ABV

Free-run juice from Pinot Blanc that’s fermented and left to age in terracotta amphora, developing texture and complexity. Golden Delicious apples, lemon citrus & a little grapefruit pith are joined by a hint of meal on the palate. Delicate, chalky tannins carry all of those flavours along. Delish!

Ottelia Pinot Gris 2020

Excellent entry-level Mencía, that's sure to be a hit with lovers of cru Beaujolais or Loire Valley Cabernet Franc. Hailing from parcels of 30- to 60-year-old vines on hillsides around Valtuille and Villafranca del Bierzo, it was vinified without oak with a splash of Garnacha Tintorera thrown in for good measure. It's bright and crunchy with ripe plum, blood orange, cinnamon, and an undercarriage of savoury herbs alongside fine-grained tannins and taut acidity.

A blend of hand-picked Sauvignon Blanc and Marsanne, which was carbonically macerated for two weeks before being pressed. Funky passionfruit, fresh mint, caraway seed spice with drying, savoury tannins and a hint of smoky russian caravan character.
