Allies' Assemblage Pinot Noir is an aptly named blend of multiple sites throughout the Mornington Peninsula, offering a complete snapshot into the diversity of this small wine region. The 2020 vintage was cool and wet, resulting in reduced yields and longer ripening time. As such, this vintage is more delicate and restrained than previous years, with tart red currant, rhubarb, fragrant orange blossom, and cinnamon spice with a gentle dusting of savoury tannin providing lovely texture.

Barnaby Flanders left Mornington Peninsula's Allies Wines in 2003 to start Garagiste, aiming to explore every nook and cranny that this small yet diverse region offers. With the help of Cam Marshall, the pair craft a wide range of cuvées that explore the sub-regionality that the 'Ninsh offers, working mainly with Burgundian heavy hitters Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The 2018 Terre de Feu Pinot Noir is a powerhouse of a wine, made with 100% whole bunches from the Merricks vineyard and split between two barrels: one new and one seasoned. It's a structured and powerful expression of Mornington Peninsula Pinot, showing red cherry, orange essence, charred cedar, and green peppercorn spice with firm tannins and well-balanced acidity.
