Though originally from the Jura region, it took Nicolas Jacob a while for his passion for wine to materialise. As if making up for lost time, Nicolas sought out the very best mentors of the region, and was soon under the tutelage of both Laurent Macle (of Domaine Macle) and Jean-François Ganevat - the former eventually taking him on as his right-hand man. After purchasing a small plot of land in 2015, Nicolas became a fully-fledged producer four years later when he purchased a small winery along with an additional five hectares of vineyards.

Les Argales is a blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin from two separate plots, which were blended together subsequently and topped up with actively fermenting lees from the 2019 Savagnin in order to finish fermentation. It's textural and drenched in earthy minerals, with notes of citrus peel, green apple, freshly cut hay, and saline acidity.
